But in general it is preferred that requests for updates not be made. The dev of this app is well aware of the release schedule and will have it out when he is done,

sure. I will make sure I don't make requests in the future. Do you think it acceptable to make a request maybe after a certain amount time if no release is made? I understand this is beta and it may take longer however the last time I think this might have been overseen (considering it is beta) and I finally made a request and it was released the next day.

Normally PA.c does not test beta software but ThunderbirdPortable and FirefoxPortable are special cases and John is informed when they are released, they are our Flagship apps so to speak. In the case of these 2 apps if there is a delay in the release, beta or otherwise, it is possible that the preparation of the portable version might be a little harder than first thought, but they will never slip thru the cracks.
As the latest beta was just released I am sure there is no need to be concerned.
