New behaviour on Portable Thunderbird start up

Nunhead_man - October 8, 2009 - 1:32pm

Hi there

I've just had an email sort out, merging my old Eudora database into a new Portable Thunderbird instance, and then loading back my pre-existing Portable Thunderbird data from the original instance.

The new instance is version 2.0.0.23 (20090812).

All now runs well except the new instance of Portable Thunderbird I've created behaves differently from the old one in that on opening the new one it does NOT ask if I want to connect or not - just goes ahead and does it!

Is there a switch to fix this I'm missing somewhere or a command line option on startup? Or is the launcher in need of a fix?

Thanks all!

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

Start up behaviour

Thanks for the welcome!

And yes, but they were in the previous instance too - I thought there was a kind of global "go on line" over-ride?

File > Offline > Work Offline

File > Offline > Work Offline will change whether or not Thunderbird is online.

there is

Tools > Options
Advanced
Network and Diskspace
Configure Offline Settings
Ask me for online state at startup

should be what you're looking for.
