SpyDLLRemover causes system reboot.Submitted by Secret_Agent_86 on October 22, 2009 - 4:11pm
I downloaded SpyDLLRemover and installed it through portable apps suite, it caused my system to reboot when I tried to start it. I thought maybe because I had many programs and threads/process running, but after the reboot I tried to run it again the same thing happened. No error message popped up. Is there anyway to find out the source of this problem? ( categories: )

Firewall
The only other time we saw SpyDLLRemover use end in a crash was due to a malfunctioning software firewall. It doesn't interfere with the standard Windows Firewall. Nor with others. I think it was just PC Tools that has the issue. Do you have a software firewall running?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Re: Firewall
I do not have a third-party firewall program running. The only other security-type programs are clamwin anti-virus and spybot S&D.
Tea-Timer?
Are you using Spybot's Tea-Timer module? If so try disabling this then run SpyDLLRemover. Though Tea-Timer is a very good feature in theory it still needs a bit of work in my opinion.
With that said I'm looking forward to Spybot Portable as they have already given permission for it *hint hint* devs

No problems with PCTools Firewall
Hi John, I downloaded the final release this morning & it works fine with the PCTools Firewall - no conflicts at all - it was only the test release that I had the problem with.
Me Too
Same thing happened to me at work. We use McAfee, no software firewall. No Tea-Timer. Seems no harm done (better than BSOD), but I didn't try again.
