Jabaco - Java Basic Compiler with VB6 syntax

Program: Jabaco

License: Freeware (Free License upon e-mail registration)

Description: Jabaco is a simple programming language with a Visual Basic like syntax. Jabaco enables you to create powerful software for all Java supported operating systems. You write sourcecode similar to VB6 and with Jabaco you can compile it to bytecode which is similar to the output of the Java programing language. Complete with integrated development environment.

Website: www.jabaco.org

Other: VB6 programming in a freely distributable IDE and compiler. Programs compile to Windows / Linux / Mac. As this is a Java program, I suspect it can be made to work with the Java Portable program here on PortableApps.com.

Thanks,

Support from Jabaco Developer

After not receiving any immediate response on the PortableApps forum, I posted a similar request on the Jabaco forum.

http://www.jabaco.org/board/437-portable-jabaco.html

Manuel Siekmann, the author of Jabaco, is in favor of a portable version of the Jabaco program ->

"I would support PortableApps to create a portable version if they need any help. But I can't do that by myself in the current project state ... I'm not averse to support a portable version in future."

I had attempted to run the program using the Java Portable program found here, but the program doesn't run. Is the use of Java Swing not found in the Java Portable?

Any help would be appreciated. This program has real potential for Visual Basic 6 programmers who would like a portable IDE that runs a majority of the VB6 code.

Thanks,
Scott Thomson [RPG Man]

Seems cool

That is pretty slick, I'm impressed. It'd be really sweet if you could get projects running with JavaPortable. (which I assume is possible)
