portable Opera for USB / flash drive

http://www.opera-usb.com/index.htm

I have the authorization of Opera and U3 to offer a changed Opera Version for Flash / USB Device. Opera@U3 and Opera@USB have been tested by both companies.

You want to use all Opera features also in this version - no problem !

- there are no unwanted effects on IE or other browsers
- existing Opera versions are not affected
- make no entries to the registry
- works with every Windows PC (company,Internetcafe, friends,..)
- leave no data on the host computer

What do i need for Opera@USB ?
- a computer with an internet connection
- a USB Flashdrive with about 15 MB space left

OperaTor

Thanks, but I already found one, and it works very well.

There is also a portable Chrome that is secure.
It is my second choice. http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php

OperaTor is closed source.

There isn't anybody verifying if the software is secure. Old versions are known to leak DNS requests and I don't know if the unique Opera identifier is still there in the current version. Also, the Opera user agent, and probably a host of other fingerprint information, is different from the majority of Tor users. Finally, there are several deanonymizing vulnerabilities that are prevented by using the Firefox plugin Torbutton.

The Tor Project distributes what you want at http://www.torproject.org/torbrowser/

I don't have any reason to believe that SRWare Iron is "secure."

Nope

"secure" is obviously not the right word to use here.

Nothing is secure.
Some are just more secure than others.

but torbutton

is just a small addon, making a switch to start or close tor on your computer. Just so you do not have to do it manually.

Tor is something separate, the actual encryption-communication part and to operate it easy, you need some local proxy for that, polipo is used often for it.

So all that has to be installed and configured before anything, opera or firefox or what ever, can send their encrypted communication via the tor network.

Torbutton is more than a toggle switch.

It manages several privacy issues.
http://www.torproject.org/torbutton/options.html.en

It does not turn Tor on and off, but lets you switch your browser between using Tor and not using Tor with one click.

The local proxy, such as Polipo, is because of hard-coded timeouts in Firefox. Once Firefox fixes the bug, those proxies will be less common.

The Tor Browser Bundle I mentioned is completely portable and is pre-configured. Just download, unzip and run.
