Master Password Required after update

Tickie6 - February 22, 2010 - 1:59pm

Master password required to use 3 after update.

I tried to remove my master password with this from Thunderbirds website.

Thunderbird 2 and above: Choose Tools – Error Console, paste the expression: openDialog("chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul") and press the Evaluate button. That will open a dialog asking you if you want to reset your password.

Problem, Thunderbird errors out I click "OK" to remove the master password. Then when I restart all the old passwords are still there.

Is there a diff way to do it with the portable apps...?

Thanks

different matter

the password you are asked there has not much to do with the master password for the thuderbird otherwise used.
It is password in connection with 509 certificates and public key infrastructure.

you can try to remove all encryption keys and public keys (certificates) from the TB, then you should not be asked for such pw any more.
