Toucan logging levels

YodaDaCoda - February 22, 2010 - 8:13pm

I've recently discovered Toucan and have to say that I love it! Works exactly as it says on the can, if it came in a can, which it doesn't.

Suggestion: add an option to be able to adjust the level of information displayed in the log. I primarily use Toucan for mirroring my PA suite to my HDD, in case of USB failure. It'd be nice to be able to change the logging level so that it would only show me copy/delete failures, instead of every copy, every delete, etc.

This feature could take place as an option on the Settings tab, or as radio buttons (e.g. "warnings", "errors", "all") on the log window itself.

Opinions of others would be appreciated. Smiling

Would

the ability to change it in the progress window itself work for you? Assuming it remembered its settings that is. I was planning on making some changes anyway and this should be pretty straightforward to add too!

Indeed

I think being able to change this in the progress window would be the best option, particularly if there was a way to chop and change between the different warning levels while the program was in the process of backing up.

What I'm realy thinking of here is the Chromium javascript console, which allows you to show 'Errors', 'Warnings', 'Logs' or 'All'. I think a similar system for Toucan would be awesome.
