Can somebody please verify: I made an encrypted Archive of my personal Data and stored it. About 3 hours later I added new Data and told 7Zip to add them to my Then there was to my surprise no question for the password and after the new files have been added my archive was without encryption??? Do I have to encrypt the filenames? Please could someone give me a clue! Thx in advance Wolf ( categories: )

PortableApps.com did not develop 7-zip
It was just made portable.

Here are my observations:
When I am inside an encrypted archive (file names not encrypted) in 7-Zip File Manager and I drag-n-drop new files to the archive, then new files are added without encryption, but old ones are still encrypted.
When archive is created with "Encrypt file names" option, and then I drag-n-drop new files to the archive, then new files are still added without encryption, and old ones are still encrypted, but you are no longer asked for a password when opening this archive, thus "Encrypt file names" is effectively stripped off from the archive.
