Pidgin: Gaim dead ?

Is Gaim in any version dead, not being maintained anymore ?, and if so I guess I can delete my old portable Gaim install ?

Gaim became Pidgin

They renamed Gaim to Pidgin so they could release it without issues with AOL due to including AIM in the name. That's all there is to it.
