hamachi requires the installation of a network driver thus requiring administrative rights which not all computers will allow making it a useless app to make portable

I wouldn't dismiss portablization of Hamachi for the admin requirement alone. Wireshark requires admin rights and it's been made portable, so it can be done, the users need to know up front, that's all.
I'm kinda bashing my own argument, but the difference between Wireshark and Hamachi is you're probably an "admin" if you're using Wireshark, normal people (non-admins) like to use Hamachi and that could cause issues (complaints, confusion, etc).
