[Released] WhatChanged Portable 1.07 Dev Test 2
Pyromaniac ( Homepage)
- March 31, 2011 - 7:07pm
Official Release: WhatChanged Portable has become an official release. Below is an outdated/unsupported version.
Application: WhatChanged
Category: Utilities
Description: from website WhatChanged is a system utility that scans for modified files and registry entries. It is useful for checking program installations. There are two steps for using WhatChanged:
First, take a snapshot to get the current state of the computer; Second, run it again to check the differences since the previous snapshot. WhatChanged uses the "brute force method" to check files and the registry.
In other words, it's a regshot alternative (more customizable, but a bit slower).
Freeware: This software is freeware and is distributed with permission from the developer.

Opinion
Ok I see where it is similar to Regshot would you consider this an alternative to it,a replacement for it? or a tool to use in addition to it?
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” Dr. Seuss
replacement, probably
It's a bit slower then Regshot on my PC, so I still use regshot, but if my computer weren't what it was, I think I might use it more.
yeah
we could have so much stuff installed on to our computers that will make it slow and make us annoyed
Comments for WhatChanged
Comments, first from the validator, then my own:
- File Other\Source\AppNamePortable.ini is missing
- appinfo.ini: [Details], required value AppID is missing
- appinfo.ini: [Details], invalid value AppId
WarningsRegarding your Custom code: Personally, I would move the RMDir to the PrePrimary, since it relates to the copying of the files, but that's just me.
Updated to 1.07 Dev Test 2
And addressed Gord's comments.
Ready?
This looks ready to me as well. As with TyperTask, the only thing missing is the splash screen in App/AppInfo/Launcher.
