Gimp not loading off usb thumb drivebender6681 - September 5, 2006 - 8:32am
I am trying to load gimp from my thumb drive. It shows the splash screen loading things. It stops at fonts and then says that "gimp-2.2 has generated errors and will be closed by windows" it says that a log was created but i cant find it anywhere. Can someone please help?? Thanks, Matt »

Possible Issues
It could possibly be a local install of GTK+ that is conflicting. There's not much you can do about that if you don't own the PC.
It could be an incompatible DLL. Check your windows and windows\system32 for the presence of iconv.dll, xmltok.dll or xmlparse.dll.
It could be a corrupt font. In that case, the only thing you can do is figure out which one and delete it. Or load GIMP without font support. Grab the INI file from GIMPPortable\Other\GIMPPortableSource and copy it to the GIMPPortable directory. Edit it and set AdditionalParameters=--no-fonts
Incidentally, are you sure you're using the 2.2.12 release? The earlier one had issues.
