OpalCalc v1.7 - Multi-line, notepad-like, update-as-you-type calculator

[OpalCalc has been updated from 1.0 to 1.7 - see my comment reply below for more details]

OpalCalc is a brand new type of calculator for the PC. As easy to use as Notepad or a word processor, OpalCalc allows natural language and multi-line support so you can go back and adjust your previous calculations. Download from:
http://www.skytopia.com/software/opalcalc/

License: 'Mostly-functional 'lite' version' (closed source for now). The portable download is just below the main download from the URL above. It requires .NET 3.5, but that is about the only thing non-portable. It can run from a pendrive and all prefs etc. are written to the same folder location. The 'lite' version is fully functional apart from a 5 line limit (which is still very useful for most purposes - there is no time limit). The full version can be obtained for $15 (updated 27/04/2014).

nice idea

but the fact that it requires .NET 3.5 might not get many people on board (I'm avoiding .NET apps until the new directory for them is in place).

Re: nice idea

That's a point, but I'm guessing at least 75% of people have .NET 3.5 or higher after researching the various data out there.

Latest v1.70

It's coming up to almost 3 years since I posted this thread. The latest version - 1.7 - is a giant improvement from v1.0, featuring many ideas recommended by all our users, such as date/time calculation, printing, full unicode support, faster loading, better international support, lots of bug fixes, and much, much more.

Here's the full history:
http://www.skytopia.com/software/opalcalc/history.html

With that in mind, I'd be grateful if OpalCalc could be reconsidered for addition to the PortableApps collection.

Unfortunately at this point

Unfortunately at this point in time we are still not accepting .NET-based apps for official release.

We are mainly waiting on two features in our components - our Launcher cannot yet detect installed .NET framework versions to warn users when a required version is not found (instead of just having the app fail silently which presents a bad user experience), and also the Platform's App Store needs to be able to show/hide .NET apps independently from the rest of the apps.

Because development resources here are spread fairly thin we don't have a timeframe of exactly when .NET support will be added, apart from that we are planning for it in the future.
