Firefox is forgetting my toolbar and extension settings!

bmurty (Homepage) - December 20, 2005 - 4:44pm

Im using Portable Firefox 1.5, and when i load it from my thumbdrive it will forget the toolbar and extension settings i had set the previous time i opened it. Why is this happening?

Possible cause

It sounds like most of what FireFox is doing is doing it on the local hard drive in a temp folder, and because of the settings, e.g. security settings, the data is erased. I don't know of a way to tell FF to store the extensions on a folder that I specify.

Be sure to let it close

If you have a slower thumbdrive, it can take a full minute for FF to close. If you pull the drive before this, it will corrupt some files in the FF profile and they'll be reset.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

ok thanks for the help

ok thanks for the help, but it has also forgotten my search plugins, the only option avaliable is 'search this page' and when i click 'add engines', nothing happens
