Minecraft Portable [Starport592]

Application: Minecraft
Category: Games
Description: Minecraft is a game in which the player is placed into a 3D sandbox environment where they must survive and thrive. Complete with online mulitplayer and 3 different game modes Minecraft delivers a new caliber of fun.

OTHER MINECRAFT LAUNCHERS:
Minecraft Portable [Development Release] by Deisuke
Minecraft Portable by The MAZZTer

Details: This version of Minecraft portable is my rendition. I'm sure there are more. I'll post their respective links here when I find them lol. This launcher is special because:

- 100% portable. Never uses the local Application Data folder.
- Java Portable Enabled.

This launcher can detect Java. If a computer has no java, java portable is used and if a computer has an upgraded version of Java that the flash drive doesn't, it uses the local java to run Minecraft. Uses the most current version of Java, where ever that may be.

Download:
You can download this here:

Sorry for AdF.ly link. I don't remember posting one before but I acknowledge your warning. I'll try to bear this in mind for the future.
Minecraft Portable Beta 2 [503KB download / 755KB installed]

The client requires purchase of Minecraft from minecraft.net for 9.95 EUR (~US$13); You cannot play without this purchase as Minecraft is NOT a free game, only the client.

Install size increases with extra resources; painterly pack, saved worlds, etc. Worlds are usually not too big but be careful since they have tons of small files; the size reported by Minecraft will not be accurate due to the way filesystems work. You can use the "Size on disk" field in the Properties dialog of a folder to see the real space consumed, but be aware this will be different for different disks (and may be a lot higher for FAT32 thumb drives than fixed NTFS drives depending on what we nerds call "cluster size").

It's not a Trojan

I mean, I'm going to be honest. If I wanted to infect your flash drive with a trojan than I wouldn't post it here lol. No, it's a false positive. I know what I put into this and I promise you that it's all just batch script with some hta. I have included the source of my work in the "other" folder of my launcher.

It's all written in batch, and many anti-virus scanners don't like it. I'm already working on a fix using C++ instead of batch. This should eliminate most of the trojan problems. This is also to allow users who have locked CMD's able to use my program as well.

I promise you on my life that it's not a Trojan. If you are still really scared you don't have to use it but really, it's not a trojan.

Oh... OK.

Maybe it's just my college's PCs going crazy and paranoid. Thanks! Smile

I think I know

I think I know why your computer is going crazy about viruses.

From what I understand virus protection software is highly sensitive to foreign batch files, which is what my launcher is composed of. I plan to fix this because I'm re-writting this entire program in C++. Additionally, I'm adding Mac support for anyone that's interested. It'll be up shortly. And yes, it works.
