PortableGIMP on CD (file structure too deep)?ulflier - October 26, 2006 - 5:43pm
Am I doing something wrong / Am I burning a data CD wrong? I couple days ago I downloaded Portable GIMP, installed and ran it once on the hard drive (as per the instructions "Running From a CD (GIMP Portable Live)"). But when I went to burn it to CD, there was a complaint about the folder structure being too deep (beyond ~8 deep). Am I doing something wrong in my CD burning? I had Portable GIMP directly in the root folder (not in a Programs subfolder). »

CD Type
Unfortunately, there are different types of CD formats. Some only support certain directory setups. ISO9660 only supports 255 characters and 8 directories deep. Most CD burning software allows you to relax these restrictions (I use Nero, which does). Some do not.
