ClamWin (FreshClam) 0.88.5 not able to locate msvcr80.dll

I tried to upgrade to ClamWin 0.88.5 today on a Windows 2000 SP4 machine with .Net version 1,0,4322,0 but I keep getting an error:
freshclam.exe - unable to locate dll
the dynamic link library MSVCR80.DLL could not be found in the specified path...

I tried downloading the msvcr80.dll but then I got another error:
freshclam.exe - application error
the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). click ok to terminate the application.

Everything I can find via search engines state that this may be a .Net 2.x issue. Can anyone out there confirm this for me? Thanks.

msvcr80.dll

msvcr80.dll along with msvcm80.dll and msvcp80.dll are for some reason located in the
ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRTable
folder.

copy them to ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin

also, these may be set as "hidden" or "system" files so just make them visible in your folder's options.

@ john

have you fixed that?
Especially for the new release...
I just downloaded the paf file to equip my 128mb stick with a small Suite and stumbled on the problem of having to copy the files again.

0.88.6

It's fixed in 0.88.6 which is still sitting on my desktop. It'll clean up the dlls in the wrong folder from the old version, too.

same error

I just downloaded the suite and patch because ClamWin didn't work on my December download.
I also downloaded the latest version of ClamWin. I get an error message about not being able to locate a dll and it shows the version I have is .88.5 even though I thought I downloaded .88.7
I checked my flash drive and the three dlls are located in ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin

When I try to update I get this error
http://star.walagata.com/w/perk/clamerror.jpg

Is there a way to edit that path so it doesn't start looking on C:\ for files?
Obviously this is useless to me if I can't update the virus definitions.

I should have mentioned this is a 2K, Sp4 formatted NTFS computer.

That is the same file I

That is the same file I downloaded yesterday because when I went to install it, I get the popups about replacing a file on my flash drive with another and the dates and size or exactly the same.
I still have the same error I posted yesterday. I can't update and I can't scan. The about, to check the version pops up the error I posted yesterday and then the screen shows I have .88.5, even though I've downloaded and installed .88.7 twice.

How do I remove this from the portable suite menu? It isn't doing me any good if it can't scan.

I looked at the Clamwin folder again - a different folder than I examined last night. There is one by itself and another inside the portable apps folder.
Those three files were not located where they should be. I copied them and was able to update and now my scan icon is no longer grayed out. But I still have one problem for some reason the appinfo.ini file continues to show version .88.5
I'm going to edit that also because i know I downloaded and installed .88.7 twice.

update...I edited the appinfo.ini but when I check for updates or click about to view the version, it still shows I'm running .88.5 and gives me an error about my version being out of date.
I'll do some reading to see if I can correct this error as well.

I'm pleased to report that I

I'm pleased to report that I opened the app and let it update. Now my version indeed shows .88.7 and I no longer get the error messages of the past several days.

I even followed this up by a $20 donation thru Paypal. Thanks for the portable apps, John Haller!
