Permission

In the other thread, you mentioned you had permission from the author but I don't see it described anywhere. Did the author sign off so we can officially release this?

Yes we can...

I got the permission. Look at the readme on Github but it's in German Wink
I found a minor thing that I would change in the launcher.ini before the release...
I forgot to define the default path for "Quick-Link" and "Favorite"

[FileWrite2]
Type=INI
File=%PAL:DataDir%\Q-Dir.ini
Section=Favoriten
Key=Ordner
Value=%PAL:DataDir%\Favoriten

[FileWrite3]
Type=INI
File=%PAL:DataDir%\Q-Dir.ini
Section=Q
Key=Link
Value=%PAL:DataDir%\Favoriten\Quick-Link

So what is my work after the release? Is it my job to keep it up to date?

History/Settings cleared on update

After updating to the latest version the settings are cleared i.e. columns | history .

I was able to return to previous start state by clicking file|Open Q-Dir state and selecting start.qdr from the data folder,
But, all the columns settings previously entered had been reverted to original.

That should not happen...

The history is stored in start.qdr but the columns are save in Q-Dir.ini .
Why is the start.qdr in the Data folder when Q-Dir is running?
Did you close Q-Dir properly before updating it?
Because the settings in Data are preserved while updating.

Ready?

Ok, I've caught up. Is the current 5.95 Dev Test 1 release-ready in terms of portablization, code, classification/details in appinfo.ini, etc?

Few things "to do" before release....

There is one thing to do:

Add in Q-DirPortable.ini:

[DirectoriesCleanupForce]
1="User"\AppData\Roaming\Q-Dir

And it is possible if Q-Dir.ini should missing around Q-Dir.exe that it will create a file Q-Dir.ini in C:\Windows
How to deal with that?

The rest should be fine. These issues are just worst case szenarios Wink

Fine

That should be fine. The user isn't supposed to run it directly. And the launcher will handle moving DefaultData to Data and then moving the INI next to the app.

Update Q-Dir Portable 5.95 Dev Test 1

changes see Release Notes

installation notes:
Be sure that it's closed properly that means no user data (Q-Dir.ini and start.qdr) in App\Q-Dir or it will be lost.

@mod:
Could you check C:\Windows if there is a Q-Dir.ini please?
Thanks

Q-Dir did crash once, but I

Q-Dir did crash once, but I did not get the screen on reopening that I get on other apps,
I.E.
http://s24.postimg.org/ovd86qq2t/Close.png

I do have a leftover at "USERS ... AppData\Roaming\Q-Dir\start.qdr"

After closing properly,
I updated to 5.95 and the view locations(folders that are open in each window) are all okay, but the column details for the first column, second row window did not save all the column settings/views. The other three were fine. I just have date modified and size as column views, and the window specified got reset to the original column view with ratings, etc.
Not a major problem but would welcome a fix.

Did you check "Save Columns"

Did you check "Save Columns" under Extras -> List-View ?
Are you sure that only one view was the original or you just didn't use it?
