Google Chrome Portable in Windows 8 mode possible?

Hello!

Has anyone managed to get this working? Why I ask is because I want to try the new Chrome OS like full screen mode.

It's nothing I can't live without, I use FF as my main browser but it would be cool to try the Chrome OS interface but I don't want to install regular Chrome.

Nope, Unless

If it only supported Modern/Metro mode, then no. Modern apps are designed to be OS-tied by default and can't be run unless they are installed in the proper location and sandboxed. They won't be portable. So, you can't run it that way on Windows 8 with Google Chrome Portable since it isn't installed.

Unless Google implements an alternate launch that works on Win7 and others, in which case we could piggyback on that.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Ok, thanks for answering!

Ok, thanks for answering! Might try installing Chrome OS in VMware instead.

VMware?

Did it work? I prefer win8 mode. It makes win8 more "homey".
