Autorun.ini

Hey I am probably jumping the gun, but I was wondering if someone could tutor me a little. I know John is working on something like this right now.

I am using PAM now in lieu of PStart and U3.

Nothing against PStart, it is just that John has made the format of the programs and the menu so nice and user friendly.

To my question-
I have already modified my autorun.ini to look like this:
[Autorun]
Open=PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\PortableAppsMenu.exe
Action=Start PortableAppsMenu
Icon=fficon1.ico
Label=2GB SanDisk Cruzer

This obviously causes Windows XP to recognize the flash drive and ask if you want to launch the PAM, and it sets the icon and name of the drive for Windows Explorer.

Can I edit this file again and get more than just the PAM to launch like FFP or TBP or any other executable on my drive at the same time? How would that look?

Nope

autorun.inf only supports a single Open command. But an upcoming release of PortableApps Menu will support autorunning apps.

That's what I thought.

I guess if it was that easy, you wouldn't need fancy programs like PAM.

Thanks anyway John.

shell

I'm not sure about this but you can put a line in the inf file to run a program when you double click a drive instead of opening it as a folder the line looks like this

shell\PortableApps\internet\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable
Action=start Firefox

I am not sure if it is shell\ or shell=

I am also trying to create desktop.ini files for some subfolders on my flash drive. I need to make the folders system folders. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks.

I'll try it. I will have to wait until I get back to work though. My laptop has suddenly lost the ability to autorun anything(CD,DVD,USB). Can't figure that one out either.

It's

shell\firefoxportable=Mozilla Firefox - Portable Edition for the label and shell\firefoxportable\command=PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe for the actual executable.
