Trojan in Gaim Portable 2.0 Beta 3.1 (English-US)??

matt_yahoo - November 30, 2006 - 1:54pm

Whilst carrying out a scan of my USB drive using AVG Free Edition 7.5.430 -
Virus base 268.15.2/260.

AVG Free claimed "GaimPortable\App\GTK\bin\gspawn-win32-helper.exe" file to be infected with the Downloader.Generic2.YXO trojan.

Requesting a second opinion, I carried out an additional scan using Clamwin AV 0.88.5 - Virus DB Version (main:41; daily;2263). Clamwin gave the file the all clear.

I deleted the file as a precaution.

Any comments?

As stated again and again. As stated in the big statement at the top of the Contact and Support pages:

IT IS A FALSE POSITIVE

The issue is entirely within AVG. Please contact AVG to have them fix their annoying mistake.
