Delete/cancel update before "restart to update"? [where is the file]

Hello, I am staying with fx 28 pending possible switch to palemoon/other, I have updates turned off. I have FX portable installed to my desktop for years. FX crashed and I impulsively decided to uncheck the "send report, page you were on" etc, restarted, and to my horror saw "update in progress" [it never did that with the send report turned on]. I closed the update window, shut the new firefox window [I knew something was up because it was asking permissions for some addons and looked different], then restarted firefox portable from my start menu shortcut. My old session came back.

I just checked the menu/help/about firefox and see Firefox 28, "restart to update"... Please NOOOO!!! I have 6 windows and about 100 tabs open plus I don't want to go there now. No Australis update now, please.

I found info on where the update file is for regular installed FX, where is it for the portable and can I delete it to cancel this process? If not I will have to delete this whole Firefox and transfer a backup in from a couple days back.

thank you for your time and any info
Matt

App/firefox/updated... delete contents of that folder?

In the portable FX folder: App/firefox/updated, I see everything in that "updated" folder has today's date. Is that the one, can I just delete the contents of that folder?
thanks

I deleted "updated" folder, success!

I looked at the backup from 2 days ago, App/firefox doesn't even have an "updated" folder, just "updates". I deleted the complete "updated" [including folder] from my current FX portable on my desktop, restarted, old session at FX 28 restored with an "update failed" notice. Posting for info, thanks
