Building a portable app

Hi all
I need a small program converted to a Portable App. I downloaded the development program read the manual.... tried all different ways of doing it without any luck.

Is anyone one out there will to try and sort this out for me??

It's a really small, simple program that complied photo's as a pdf.
Just drag and drop your photos onto the program and hay presto you have a pdf with as many photo's you throw at it, even compress's it!
Perfect for what I need but I can't run it on my work PC, but I can run portable apps...
The program is i2pdf.

Would really appreciate some help with this...

Cheers Dave

Already portable?

according to
https://freeshell.de/~luis/i2pdf/index.php
and
https://freeshell.de/~luis/portable/index.php
it is already portable even if it is not in PA format.

Just unzip it into a directory (say i2pdf) in the same directory as your other portable apps, start PA, right click on a menu item and choose refresh.

Should just work.

Thanks for the reply I tried

Thanks for the reply

I tried this but even though it's a stand alone exe it won't read it.

No matter what I tried it wouldn't see the exe, I even changed the .exe to .pa.

Thanks anyway.

You have to put a standalone

You have to put a standalone exe in a folder in the protableApps directory. Then it will work.

Works here

I've just tested and it works here.

Recipe

create a folder/directory
i2pdf
in the same folder as your other PortableApps, e.g.
X:\PortableApps\i2pdf

d/l the zip file for your system from the url above

virus scan it just to be safe

unzip it into the directory you just created

you may need to refresh the PA menu to get it to appear, it will be under Other as i2pdf

is it possible you are using 64bit when you should be using 32 or vice versa?

You don't need to rename anything, it really does just work.

Thanks Mate I'll try again

Thanks Mate

I'll try again when I get access to my home PC again (at work now).
I thought it didn't matter about 32 or 64 as long as you went for the lesser??

We try and follow your notes and hope for success !

Thanks again.
