WinSCP Portable only supports use with PuTTY Portable via the specialized PuTTYPortableLinker.exe we have included in the package. WinSCP passes its session information to PuTTY via a registry key which this linker handles. It doesn't support portable use with KiTTY.

Although the locally installed version may support PuTTY, we do not support KiTTY in conjunction with WinSCP Portable at this time. If you'd like to connect it, please use PuTTY Portable as we have a custom linker to handle it. We may in the future add KiTTY support.
