FF30 update from FF28 still causes real problems with add-ons

Having installed FF30port over perfectly well working FF28port configurations with loads of add-ons (esp. language add-ons) for several times I am quite disappointed of what is going on:
- tabs no longer working (close buttons, width, switching between etc.)
- I never liked tabs floating over (!) the underlying tab window and covering parts of the window content
- bottom bar is missing, many of the icons vanished completely
- add-ons are disabled (even FF30 compatible ones!), enabling does not work
- the whole view changed, the new order of toolbars seems to be fixed (I def don't like tabs at the top)

It seems that the FF team wants users to switch to another browser. I used FFport since the very beginning, after testing loads of add-ons I finally arranged my configuration as it is. I do not want to have it changed completely.

I have no idea what to do. I want to up-date to FF30port. But what use is it for, if I can no longer use the add-ons I like? Any idea welcome!

Update Your Add-Ons

I haven't seen any major add-ons that didn't work with FF30 at this point. Some oddball ones that mess with the GUI arrangement will fail, of course, such as any tab-modification add-ons (which are *notoriously* buggy in general and often break on nearly every version).

Start with all your add-ons disabled and enable them one at a time.

There is no bottom bar any longer. Extensions are supposed to have been updated to work with both the main toolbar and the popup menu.

No other browser has the level of extension support or the breadth of extensions as Firefox.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Strange

I am quite keen to have updates on my systems. FF28port was updated today (again) after all add-ons were checked for updates, of course.
FF30port found just 2 of all add-ons not working with the new version.

Still all add-ons were disabled by default (?) after the update to FF30port. Still it was not possible, to enabled them.

I use the bottom bar for all major checks and controls (transfer, security, IP, local switcher, noscript, java script control and so on). In my opinion it is no good idea to get rid of what makes FF so valuable.

I do not need all the fun add-ons, I need the apps I need. Besides security I also use add-ons for several non-Western languages. With FF28port everything is fine. As mentioned no longer after the update.

Let's keep the free world free.

classic theme

you can use the classic theme restorer:

https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

by this you have all your bars back and you can set all the way you are used to

Problems solved!!!

Thank you so much for your help!

The classicthemerestorer is one of the most important add-ons. I wonder why this is not part of FF30. I am sure that a lot of other users are frustrated with the update as well.

Maybe the master programers should decide to add the classic benefits to the new versions again.

they will npot go back

Mozilla has decided to have the FF this way so they will not just make you to work in opposite direction. They even removed many of the switches in about:config to prevent people go back.

The addon is done by other programmers.
