Updating unzipped individual apps as batch

Sorry if I couldn't express myself at the title.

I download portable apps and unzip them individually and do not launch them by platform, I make shortcuts for each and run them that way. By this I feel like they are installed apps in Program Files not portable ones.

Anyway, I want to update them all automatically. Because I unzipped and installed them myself, the portableapps.com platform doesn't see them. They don't appear in the menu.

So without using platform, can I or how can I update my apps all together?

thanks.

Platform

The way to properly update your apps is via the PortableApps.com Platform. As long as you keep your apps within a PortableApps directory and the platform (aka PortableAppsPlatform.exe and everything else) is within the PortableApps\PortableApps.com directory, it will find all your apps.

The platform can 'see' other apps by unzipping them to the correct place. Details are here: https://portableapps.com/support/platform#addingotherapps The platform can't update those apps as zipped portable apps are all in separate formats, usually can't be updated automatically as it wipes out settings, and are usually not even fully portable.

By 'unzip', you mean run the .paf.exe installer, correct? If you're somehow unzipping or extracting the files from the .paf.exe installer itself without running it, we can't help you.

yes, I meant installing and

yes, I meant installing and thanks for the answer.

Can I change the directory one level up? I mean I want to move apps seperately to the same directory as "Documents" and "Start.exe", can I do that with platform still seeing my apps?

PortableApps = Program Files

Think of the PortableApps directory like your Program Files directory locally. It's designed for all your apps to live there specifically. The platform will only find your apps when installed to the PortableApps directory.
