Enigmail 1.8

Hi,

Enigmail has been updated and will no longer support older versions of GnuPG. We will have a new update for the platform?

grateful

not best idea

well I think the best will be to keep the old enigmail copy aside as the gpg2 is rather useless for portable use. It needs to be installed in the host system.

personally I think it is best to stick with enigmail 1.5x or so, as the latest pointing to full integration into system is not what is useful for portable work.
As the current gpg version is also uptodate as all sorts of flaws are concerned, there is no need for full system integration.

BTW: the current version is still 1.7.2 and the 1.8 ist in beta. The 1.8 should still use gpg1.4 so will be able to work portable. One has to simple block updating it then to later versions.

GPG Plugin Portable

GPG Plugin Portable has been announced here: https://portableapps.com/news/2015-03-18--gpg-plugin-portable-2.0.27-rel...

It supersedes the old GPG plugins for Thunderbird and SeaMonkey and can be automatically updated by the PortableApps.com Platform. It bundles GPG2 in a portable form so it will work with later Enigmail releases as well.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
