I just created my account and gave a donation to get the app downloaded, but wherever I try I can't get to a ppoint to download without another donation. Please help.

No donation is required to download the PortableApps.com Platform. There's a big Download Now button on the download page that will download it directly: https://portableapps.com/download
When you click it, it will open up another page in a new tab (or window on the rare chance your browser is configured that way) to explain how to install, but your download is still happening in that first tab. It's just a 5-10 second pause on SourceForge so the ads display (that's how they fund downloads).
If your download is not working for some reason, please switch back to the previous tab and let us know if there's any sort of error message.
