Portable File Sync

I have searched the archives and have not seen an actual pre-made portable solution for file synchronization as I have use for one.

With every update, my work PC is getting more and more locked down for "security" reasons. For all personal application use, I have been running portable applications on an external USB hard drive.

Now, for the requested application...

I am now using "Good Sync" installed on the company host machine to keep a real-time copy of the contents of the My Documents folder (and all subfolders) from the host machine, on the portable drive. This is both used as a backup device, and frankly, protecting my own interests by keeping copies of my work on a personal drive.

Soon, I forsee that I will no longer be able to have the file synchronization application on the company machine, and thus would like to facilitate the same functionality from a portable app on the external drive.

The portable apps I have seen thus far appear to work opposite of my requirements. Meaning they back up or synchronize settings and files from the portable drive to a host machine for storage.

Any takers (or pointers)?

Thanks,
Jeff

Not quite there

Thank you Chez.

I did study both of those threads thoroughly before posting and analyzed each mentioned products. As I discovered, neither thread discusses an application that is (1) portable on it's own without manipulation beyond my capacity and (2) exhibits the behavior I described.

Did you see a particular portable application that I missed?

DSynchronize is what I use, also, and it works very well.

Completely self-contained.
