Suggested portable apps

Just sharing apps that I use frequently that are either downloadable as portable or zips, or which can be installed normally, and then directory-moved to the PortableApps subdirectory:

** myBase (knowledge mgmt/ database; move after normal install): http://www.wjjsoft.com/download.html
** Avidemux (video editing/ splitting; move after normal install): http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/download.html
** TEncoder (video conversion; install from zip): http://www.fosshub.com/TEncoder-Video-Converter.html

myBase is a commercial app, but is highly recommended if you do research or work with document databases or outlines.

Don't know if any/all of these can be 'PAF-ed' for PortableApps.com, but thought I'd pass them along.

Three useful looking tools

As you mention, myBase is free to download for evaluation only. It costs $79 to purchase. Avidemux is very useful and widely used. TEncode looks like a useful tool. I will certainly explore it further, as I am just starting to get involved with video editing and conversion.

Many thanks for bring these three tools to our attention.
