This app was not closed properly

I use portableapps platform as my start menu button.

i also have it automatically run some apps when it starts up. the problem is about half the time it gives an error message saying that the apps were not closed properly, and therefor does not start the app.

imagine if you get this message half the time when you start it, what will you do? you will just disable it and not use the portable launchers.

and thats what i did. so i suggest that there be a way to make the app start, check to see if it was closed improperly and then relaunch if it wasnt so that it is not so inconsistent, with the ability to disable the error message. particularly if someone is using the app permanently on the C: drive as i am.

after reading others

i see that the issue of being unable to restart is to do with the code,

so in the case of having it installed, whynot just leave it uncleaned?
using the local version of the app often means an install, and its nice to know that the application be launched and clean itself without leaving a trace if deleted, but i like this site and want to support it, as such its simply good advice to allow users to disable this message so that

so simply put, the best solution is to disable to the cleanup assuming that relaunching the app will over-write the previous and it should be cleaned up when the app is closed this time.

Simply Put

The best solution is to properly close apps when exiting

1 click

Which is a 1 click option on the platform's menu. Not that hard to do.

PortableApps was designed to be portable, ie moved from machine to machine. If you wish to install it on your hard drive rather than a USB drive extio that is your prerogative but expecting the app to change to fit your desires is a little much. Why don't you use the various apps you like from their original vendors, then your closing problem will be solved.
