Donation Methods Other Than PayPal

Having had more than my share of problems with PayPal in the past that have built up to an unmitigated disgust of the business ethics of both PayPal and eBay that boil down to an outright refusal to use any products & services from either company, are there "trustworthy" monetary donation methods other than PayPal?

No Real Options

There really aren't many options for a site like ours without a merchant account. We may add Stripe or something for direct credit card contributions, but we can't without an SSL page (since Stripe doesn't have its own pages) and we have to do other things that cost more monthly money which I don't have to make that happen.

There are a few free entity to entity money transfer sites, but we're not interested in yet another one of those that would require users to sign up for yet another service.

Suggestion

Hi John

Why not set up a Bitcoin address for people to send donations to you that way?

Just a thought Smile - https://bitcoin.org/en/

Kind Regards

Already Support bitcoin, dogecoin, litecoin

We already support bitcoin, litecoin, and dogecoin. They're all right on the Donate page. They're barely used. Likely mainly because the cryptocurrencies themselves are barely used.

Square Cash?

Have you heard of Square Cash?
I'm not too sure of how it works, but I saw some information that said it can be used by businesses and non-profits now, and they claim it's really easy to use.

who done bad?

if the recipient is PA how do you know they'll behave badly? my reading is you've been scrotted by someone via PayPal or eBay and decided the payment system is crap rather than the truth which is someone simply not sending you stuff and you being a fool for believing them.

Since a contribution to PA doesn't require the delivery of goods (unless you asked for a keyring drive or something) how can PA / JTH fail? All you have to do is send your pennies in the right way and you'll get an acknowledgement of sorts if not goods or services.

So, where were we?
