Firefox portable "This connection is untrusted"

Hello forum members:
I installed Firefox portable 43.0.4 on a usb drive. When I go to www.google.com, I get the "This connection is untrusted" message with error code sec_error_unknown_issuer. In fact, this happens for yahoo.com too, but not bing.com (I don't particularly like bing). Many websites work, including ebay, amazon, and others, but I even get the same error when I go to www.mozilla.org! This does not happen on my non-portable install of firefox. I have windows 10, everything is up-to-date, making me think this is a problem with the portable app, or a setting. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, I didn't get much of a response, but found a solution for anyone having similar problems. I copied the cert8.db file from my OS-installed version of firefox into my portable Data>Profile folder. This worked! I still don't understand the root of that problem, but this solved all of my "connection untrusted" problems.

Firefox portable "This connection is untrusted"

I was dealing with the same problem after a fresh install of Firefox portable (and several re-installs). Very odd and frustrating trying to fix it. In addition to the untrusted connection error message, when I tried to sync my bookmarks I got an error message saying there was no internet connection! I've used Firefox portable a number of times before and never had this happen. Your solution worked perfectly, everything seems to be working like it should. Thank you for taking the time to post the solution you found!
