Questions

I wonder if it's just me, but recently I've been noticing that portable apps are not being as actively updated/released as before..... Sad
Previously, portable apps would be updated/released almost every day, but now, well, not many apps are being updated/released, even though there are LOTS of apps that are outdated.... Sad
Is PortableApps dying?
I hope not.... Sad

Also, another question:
If I package a portable app, will you add it to the "web store" in the PortableApps platform so that other users can download it?
Or will I have to maintain it on the forum? Sad

Possible answers

1. At times when many apps are needing updating at same time they are prioritized fo rrelease, they are still being maintained and if you look over at the outdated apps page, https://portableapps.com/development/outdated you will see many in cue.

Also one has to remember that PortableApps is basically a one man operations as far as the owner maintains the servers performs the uploads and even has to pay out of his -pocket associated costs. This is not to say that many of us do assist and help as we can, but in end of Day peopole have lives and jobs.

2. To answer your second question, generally apps that are portable by users are posted in the developmental section https://portableapps.com/forums/development/portable_app_development there you would maintain, get feedback from others, adapt or make changes as needed. There is a team of us who regularly check the forum and make recommendations for official release. If you look at some of the firsttopics in the category page you will get some info on this.

Hopes this helps answer your questions.
