ClamWin Portable 0.90 Doesn't Scan AnythingSubmitted by abeckstrom on March 1, 2007 - 6:22pm.
Just upgraded to the latest Portable Apps ClamWin 0.90 and whenever I try to run a scan I get the same error: "Error: MD5 verification error". No files or folders are scanned. Please advise. ( categories: )

Sorry,
porterkm (Homepage) - March 3, 2007 - 7:48ambut, I am not as qualified as John or many others to answer this, but I think that you should try downloading it again and then update the virus definitions (if you did not update the definitions before, then that should fix your problem).

maheshkamdar - July 26, 2007 - 6:04amSir,
I have downloaded ClamWin. But it does not scan even a single file. I also downloaded the latest virus data.
Is there any other way out?
Regards.

Try this
ZachHudock - July 26, 2007 - 7:01amDelete the Clamwin Portable folder and installer, download ClamWin Portable from this site again (John updated it yesterday), install it again, download the updates and try the scan.

I'm using the latest version of ClamWin Portable, downloaded from this site. Any ideas what is wrong?
Simple answer ...
Known viruses:0
shows You, that the Databases main.cvd and/or daily.cvd in the Data/db folder are empty.
Try dowloading the actual dbs via 'Tools-Download Virus Database Update'.
Keep in mind that You have to allow Clamwin to connect the internet if You have a firewall enabled

You've paid for Sotware more or less?
What You need is OSS!
Strange...
rabadi - February 12, 2008 - 10:23pmI am pretty sure I did just that, and the update process was a success. Anyway, will try to re-download and re-install the whole thing (installer + virus database) later... or perhaps I'll just stick to the virus-free, linux environment
Reset
You can also easily reset ClamWin Portable by deleting the ClamWinPortable\Data directory.
Live with purpose.
Re-installing the whole
rabadi - February 13, 2008 - 9:39pmRe-installing the whole thing seems to solve the problem. Many thanks!
