Hello,
I use portableapps platform for updating portableapps apps, and when i start the platform it takes some time to list all the apps on my disk, i like to request the portableapps team to add an option to disable app listing on startup. maybe reload the listing when a new app is found only.

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but the platform's bug & feature tracker lists
as an Upcoming Feature. However, we do not have a timeline for this to occur. As you can see, there's a lot on that list, and limited availability of developers for the platform at the moment.

As Gord said above, we're working on caching to improve startup speed significantly. The goal is to eventually have it instant if you don't need to have it scan for new apps on launch.
I'm guessing you're using something else to handle displaying your apps. If that's the case, what are we missing in the PortableApps.com Platform that might help you use our menu for everything else and better suit your needs?
