There's a lot of boilerplate files and folders in the PA's package, lots of complications to create a package. Maybe PortableApps.com should make a portable app themselves that takes the app folder (containing only the app files) and one config file (just one) and from that produces all the files and folders that its system needs. Rather than everyone downloading templates, copying files all around the directory tree and editing select parts of the config files.

Submitting the app is also too complicated. The author has to download templates, carefully change their inside, making sure no special characters or tags are modified, then the edited template has to be submitted to a special discussion group AND announced on another discussion group, using another template. Why so complicated?

Why not having a simple web form for submission that takes the basic info, checks and formats the fields, uploads it where necessary and sends a notification?
