Free Delphi 10.1 for PortableApps.com Platform development

Embarcadero started giving away limited licenses of Delphi 10.1 Starter Edition in the last few days. It won't support drivers or databases and won't include updates. I don't think the license allows for redistribution of compiled EXEs on a commercial basis (which tends to have a rather broad definition including things like advertising on websites). The PortableApps.com Platform is currently compiled with the older Delphi XE release but we will be switching to Delphi 10.1 in the next major version release. Even though 10.1 doesn't officially support XP, EXEs built with it work without issue. Windows 2000 is no longer suported.

If you register and get your own copy, you'll be able to assist with platform development which will soon be done via github. We'll be building the released beta and stable builds with our full commercial license as always.
