Hi, I was just wondering, what does it take to make a launcher? Is there a specific program to do it? Or do you have to program it? Thanks in advance!

first you could start with looking at the launchers included in every app here or looking at the Development page. Most apps released by other people are either based on one of Johns launchers or they are based in the PortableAppsTemplate.

The Launchers are written in the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System.

It looks to difficult. Why couldn't there just be a program for it? You show it a program and it's portable?

Each program is different.
Tweaking is often required to make one program portable that is not needed in another.
Program A writes to 5 different places in the Registry which are not there by default, leaves files in 4 different places and expects 2 absolute paths.
Program B writes to 3 different places in the Registry that are there by default [and therefore need to be restored], leaves files in 2 different places and requires Java to be installed on the system.
etc, etc, etc,...

There is one. JauntePE (can't remember the link) makes things portable and Steve is working with the author to upgrade Lapwing so that it works better.
That said, you can use Lapwing at the moment and it works fairly well.
