XAMPP missing dll errorfatmo - March 13, 2007 - 9:24am
Hi All, Has anybody else have had several error messages about missing dlls when they've tried to run apache for the first time? I get the same message when I try to setup both the lite verson and the normal one. The missing dlls are: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. ( categories: )

Root Directory
Did you install it to the root directory of the drive using the default name of xampp (or xampplite)? If not, it may not work on every PC.

The computer is running XP SP2.

Yep. Went through the process last night on my PC at home (also XP SP2) got the missing dll errors then today at work I deleted the files from last night, downloaded XAMPP again, followed the instructions again and I got the same error.

Check over at Apache Friends for more info. I haven't seen what you're encountering before.

Thought I'd put this here in case anyone else has the same problem.
I'd previously been running IIS with php installed. I'd unistalled IIS but forgot to uninstall php. Oops.
Once the original installation of php was removed XAMPP worked.
