Hi, I was looking at the documentation with VLC on streaming but I cant seem to get it work. Does anyone know how to successfully stream with VLC/ use as a media server?

Same Boat - Can't get streaming to work

I am also trying to get VLC to stream.
I have followed the howto's but nothing seems to come through.
I am trying to stream from a webcam through a router to another machine. I have tried most options in the wizard (between 2 XP machines) and other options between XP and Ubuntu. I know the webcam works because I can view it using direct show. When I try to stream the content (check box on direct show tab) the image from the webcam disappears from the local machine and the remote machine doesn't get anything, although the stream comes up on the list on the remote machine.
Anyone know what is happening??? I tried looking at the VLC forum but it is down for maitainance Sad
Thanks in advance
