ClamWin: Scan for but not cleaned off system

Hello all

I ran the newest version of Portable version with updated DEFS.
It found 14 or so infected files, but there was not an option to clean infected files. I rebooted and the files are still infected.
I thought ClamWin cleaned files of the viruses?
Am I just blind and missing something?

What experiece have other run into?

AFAIK

you can only remove them or report them or move them to the quarantine folder.

then what does clean them?

I guess I will say, "Thanks for heads up!" nod, but does anyone have a free/portable program that does clean? It seems that it should clean, just something I would have expected.

Restore to clean state

Wordpad.exe is infected with a virus.
He wants to clean wordpad.exe so that it no longer contains a virus.
He does not want to quarantine or delete wordpad.exe as he would no longer have use of it.

Some

Not all antivirus products will clean all files. And not all viruses can actually be cleaned from a given file even by the best antivirus products.

I didn't expect it to catch all

I use different anti-virus programs because not all of them catch thee same ones.

But yeah, I was looking for the ones that would un-virus the files. I don't download v files I don't need to read or keep, so quarentine or removing them wouldn't really work for me, as I would have used the files at some point in time.
