Microsoft Word compatible, yes. Microsoft Works?

I love OpenOffice, but I've got some works files i need to work with and I can't seem to find any applications - that are free- that are compatible with works formatting. Anyone know somethin' i don't? :/

Get em out of Works format

Get them out of Works format ASAP. Save them to standard DOCs or ANYTHING else besides works format. Nothing works right with Works except Works and Word kinda... which is why nothing should EVER be saved in Works format.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Recent versions of Works

All recent versions of MS Works I've seen have the ability to read and write .doc files. If nothing else, have 'the boss' convert the file to .doc and then you can use OOo.
