OO - strange behaviour - file saves fine, but does not show up on desktop

Reformatted computer moved portable app suite to computer. Open Office opens fine and seems to save just fine but no files show up on Windows XP. All settings in folder options are set to view all files, system files, and extensions.

The files can be viewed and opened if I open them from with in openoffice.

It is almost as if XP does not want to display the files.

Any ideas?

They're there

But if you're using Portable OO.o 2.0, they're on your portable drive within PortableOpenOffice\userprofile\Desktop (prefix that with PortableApps\Data if you're using the Suite)

Portable OO.o 2.0.1 solves this issue.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

They were there

I am using suite and they were there. I did navigate up to the desktop though when I saved. I did upgrade to OO.o 2.0.1 and it did solve the problem.

We have a decent amount of churn at our company and so we have been using your portable version because it makes for easy migration ... except for the file associations. Other than that the suite is great! We have been using OO.o for over a year now.

I wish there was a script that could put those file associations into the registry automatically for at least the OO.o items and firefox.
