Can't send messages using MSN http methodDaveyNL - August 27, 2007 - 6:13am
Is anybody having problems sending messages using MSN http method or standard? I always get: At home with AdiumX it works, just not with Pidgin. Yahoo and other protocols work fine. I did a clean-install just to see if that made any difference but no luck. Any ideas? Regards, David ( categories: )

I'm using Pidgin Portable right now with MSN. It works perfectly for me.

It worked a a few weeks ago
As it worked till a few weeks ago I think it must be due to either the MSN http protocol changing recently or changes in our corporate firewall.
If I use the browser based webmessenger.msn.com I do get thru the FW.
I guess the Pidgin/ libpurple MSN http implementation isn't quite the same as the official MSN one

Open the command line (if you can't use Start » Run » cmd, use Command Prompt Portable) and enter
ping messenger.hotmail.com:1863----
