Command Line Silent Switch?beneee - August 28, 2007 - 7:34am
Hi, thanks for this great Program. Is it possible to integrate a Silent Switch, perhaps Command Line only. I will use Toucan to equalise 2 Foldersets with Batch File, but after the Job Ends, a Continue Dialog comes up with carry out. How can i disable this, to run my Jobs in a silent mode with no User Interactions? Thanks for any Help. ( categories: )

This
has been fixed in version 1.2 which should be prerelased shortly.

Hi, thanks for the great
Hi, thanks for the great program. I've been waiting for 1.2 so I can use silent mode from a cron job, but after upgrading I still get a gui dialog that says:
"Would you like to carry out the full operation? If you are not sure you can check the preview log stored in the Toucan directory".
Have I missed a command line option that turns on silent mode? I tried -s --silent, -help, ? -?, etc.
Thanks,
Dave
Oops,
looks like a little bug slipped in there, I'll get it fixed in the next version (which should be a small patch).

If I'm the "thing" you're talking too, then yes, I was using equalize mode.

Aha, the subject, missed that...
Thanks for the info on the update. Again, great program.

Assistance requested with switches
EDIT: Wow searched again and found this Command line issue Got it. Works Superbly now. Danke.
I'm trying to make use of the command line switches but can not seem to get it to work. I have searched the forums, and help files before posting. I even tried things out that I've seen as a result of the searching.
I've tried using version 1.2.0 and 1.2.0 PR-6, with command line and job specification as follows to no avail. Any suggestions where I'm going wrong?
Job named 'WinBack':
[WinBack]
Type=Sync
1=C:\\My Documents\\WinBack
2=J:\\SaveIt\\Carlson
Function=Equalise
Attributes=0
Preview=0
Exclusions=|
Command line used:
Toucan WinBackResult: GUI appears, but doesn't load the job nor run it.
Thanks for any assistance you can give.
My goal is to have Toucan launched by TaskScheduler every so often and run 'silently' as it were to keep my PC backed up on a mapped network share drive.

Yep,
this is a bug with equalise, I hope to get a beta of the next version (1.2.1) out as soon as I can, although things are pretty busy for me at the moment as I have exams at the start if January and a two week break before them so I need to get all my work done by the end of next week!

Thanks
I know the feeling of the pressure of exams. I'm currently enrolled in college here and going through the exam crush now.

Right then,
back on topic, the code for 1.2.1 pr1 was sent to John yesterday so hopefully that'll be up shortly and should fix this bug.

I doubt it will be up before Christmas

In that
case, I'll do the installer myself and send it to you to put up, who cares if a pre-release isn't signed.
