What am I doing wrong?

Hello

I've installed Portable Firefox and portable Thunderbird on my USB stick, and I use them mainly on a PC which previously has the desktop version.

when I uninstalled Firefox from this machine it obviously lose the HTML file association with Firefox. I Like very much to read RSS feeds titles in Thunderdbird and then open the body in Firefox but seemed to me that with the portable version it isn't possible anymore. Yesterday I register portable firefox as the default browser and everything seemed to work the old way, but this is not true: when I launch firefox with PStart I get full bookmarks, extension and settings, when I launch from Thunderbird I don't get the same configuration...
It seem however that if i launch Portable Firefox with PStart before any other application I get the right configuration

Thanks

Simone

Default browser not supported

You can't set Portable Firefox as your default browser within Firefox. that only sets the copy of Firefox within it as the default (using a local profile). Setting Portable Firefox as the default browser must be done by manually editing the registry and is not supported right now.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

default browser

Thanks for the info.

If I've understood what you have written, I'm not using Portable Firefox as the default web browser, but just another istance (that would explain why I "lose" bookmarks and extension.
As I said before everything seems to work well if I open Portable Firefox before clicking on links or HTML files.

Bye

Correct.

This is expected behavior. If any copy of firefox.exe is launched with Firefox already running, it immediately terminates and then just latches onto the existing instance.
