Protected network

I attempted to, but could not, run GIMP from a USB drive on my generally protected work computer. I thought that this is what portable apps meant. What am I missing? Error message was "restrictions in effect, contact system administrator."

.exe Whitelist

Your admin many have set up an exe whitelist. Only admin approved apps may run on a system like this.

Portable apps do not require an install which many more systems restrict or employers have a policy restricting.

Life is about the journey not the destination!
