OpenOffice 3.4 Portable?

DannyJr - May 10, 2012 - 10:29pm

The Apache Foundation has released OpenOffice 3.4. Will PortableApps release the new version, or are there still legal impediments to the use of the name?

Install PDF import extension silently

zmotiwala - March 7, 2012 - 10:59am

We have Open Office portable bundled along with our application server to view office documents as pdf files.

We would like to use it to open up PDF files as well. Is it possible to install PDF import extension silently?

We don't want cutomers to launch open office to add the extension. Rather import the extension via a script or something.

If so how do we do it.

Welcome goes into a loop

totherestoration's picture
totherestoration - December 17, 2011 - 11:21pm

I have the latest, version 10 of PortableApps. Open Office installed successfully on my USB key/thumb drive. However, the welcome page has "next" that works, the User Name page has "next" that works, but the registration page has "next" greyed out. This means that regardless of what option I choose (Register now, or Register Later, or Don't Want to Register), to activate that option I only have 3 choices--back (doesn't complete the welcome part), finish (seems to do the same as cancell) and cancell (cancells whatever option I had chosen).

Hello,

I am in need of running OOPortable from CD. I followed the instructions given:

I installed OOPortable on my hard drive. The files are contained in F:\OpenOfficePortable. I ran OpenOfficePortable.exe and ran through the initial setup (First Name, Last Name, Company > Would you like to Register?, etc.).

OpenOffice doesn't work and Ejects the USB Flash Drive

Decoy-Vaniroth's picture
Decoy-Vaniroth (Homepage) - August 24, 2011 - 5:36am

I have a problem launching OpenOffice.org
When I click to one of its programs... the Splash Screen is not displayed and then, it ejects my Pen Drive. I tried to re-download and re-install OpenOffice.org but it still doesn't work.
Any Suggestion?
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english.

PS: I have LibreOffice too, which doesn't work too. Maybe I cannot have both suites?

Moving File Locations

Go4Troy - July 17, 2011 - 8:54pm

I've installed OpenOffice and manually changed the default file locations to a documnent directory of my choice. For Example:

Calc doc will be saved to: C:\My Documents\Spreadsheets
Writer will be saved to: C:\My Documents\Word

You get the idea....

Then I save the changes, and exit OpenOffice. When I open OpenOffice again, the default setting are back, and my changes are gone.

How do I get them to stick?

Troy.

Open Office Portable 3.30

Maineguy01 - April 11, 2011 - 7:40pm

Is there an Open Office Portable 3.30 coming anytime soon? What I am using now is fine but my Secunia is telling me I need to update and obviously I cannot do so at this time.

Thanks
