Version 2.8.0 is out on source forge.![]() Amarus - June 8, 2011 - 4:03pm
I just want to point out that while the latest version of pidgin isn't showing on it's website homepage, it is out at Pidgin's sourceforge repository. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pidgin/files/Pidgin/2.8.0/ I'm not posting this to rush anybody. I'm posting this just in case the folks at pidgin.im are having problems or something. e.g. the changelog shows the entries for pidgin ver: 2.8.0, yet the download button still display/direct to pidgin ver: 2.7.11 ( categories: )

How to change the Pidgin Portable SPLASH SCREEN![]() pooley - February 11, 2011 - 9:55am
Hi there, Just tried the pidgin portable version, works like a charm so first of all I'd like to thank the PA and Pidgin folks for the WLM alternative (which was a labeled "crosoft PITA"). I was just wondering, I created my own spashscreen (as the default one is a little bit ... not my cup of tea) How do I put mine on the *.exe ? thank you in advance for the answer. greetings from France. Portable Pidgin vs. portable Operathopetersson - December 31, 2010 - 7:38am
Hi all I just recently went to full mobile, using pidgin and opera under WinXP. On some developers' forum someone posted a patch file that allows Pidgin to use different browsers. My question: could this work on a Windows based system? From what I understand, the patch modifies some parts of GTK file(s), but I guess Portable Pidgin (the Windows executable) has only the necessary elements of GTK so the patch would not have any effect (also, the Linux version has got a "Browser" option in the preferences, which can't be found on the Windows version). Pidgin periodically crashing since 2.7.7Gnemesis - December 30, 2010 - 11:50am
Pidgin has started crashing recently... (I am currently running Pidgin 2.7.9) this is the error message shown when run thru debugger: Unhandled exception at 0x77059d15 in pidgin-portable.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000065. Any ideas what might be the issue? The only recently-added plugin I use is SIPE 1.10.0 (Windows), but this error occurs even if that is not installed. ( categories: )

Perl disabled?otaku - December 17, 2010 - 9:08am
Hi portable apps community, I was wondering why pidgin portable's Perl support is disabled by default (according to the Build-Information menu item) but yet contains a perl.dll file in the plugins folder. Is there a particular reason for that? I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I would love to use my perl plugins in the portable version of pidgin as well ( categories: )
